Role
The following roles have been realized to be carried out by Nepal Police Organization for the management and rescue operation of natural disasters.
- To identify and cause to identify possible locations of natural disasters and other types of accidents
- To approach and cause to approach to mitigate, rescue and management of possible disaster prone locations by making an evaluation of the volume of loss and posit symbols in such locations.
- Make an effort to disseminate and cause to disseminate information in society for implementation of ways for early preparation in view to mitigating and management of possible natural disasters.
- Source and cause to source and update contacts of all important and accidental service organizations involved in rescue and management of natural disasters such as hospitals, ambulance, and fire brigade.
- Timely management of required skilled manpower and carry out necessary exercises of the manpower preparing for management and rescue of natural disasters.
- Carry out and cause to carry out rescue operations as soon as possible after a natural disaster takes place.
- Collection of information and keep records of the losses and rescue operations of an accident or a natural disaster.
- Put effort to disseminate information and involve concerned organizations with in the Government and NGO's regarding rescue and management of accidents and disasters.
- Manage and cause to manage proper peace and security in the process of rescue, relief distribution and rehabilitation on the spot of accident.
- Play necessary role to remove sense of fear and terror caused in people and community due to calamities.
- Approach and cause to approach to establish the environment of confidence between victims and rescue workers on the effectiveness of a disaster or accident
- Work as a mediator and cause to do so between all the parties involved in rescue operation.
- Do and cause to do several other works occurring in the process of management and rescue operation of an accident or disaster.
